Dartmouth Regatta

Dartmouth Regatta is the highlight of the summer season in Dartmouth.  At it’s heart are a series of rowing and sailing events.  However over the years the regatta has grown to include a huge programme of activities including a large fair, craft markets, fireworks displays, air displays, running races, tennis tournaments  and much, much more

During regatta week nearly 100,000 people visit Dartmouth, a huge influx of people compared to the town’s population of around 6,000.  This makes Dartmouth Regatta one of the largest public events in the South West, and the second largest Regatta after Cowes Week.

Despite its size Dartmouth Regatta is a wonderful event with a wide range of activities for all the family.  However, given its increasing popularity it pays to book your holiday accommodation early.

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta 2012 will be held between Thursday 30th August and Saturday 1st September 2012

Dart Music Festival

The Dart Music Festival has been running since 1998 in the beautiful South Devon riverside town of Dartmouth. Since then it has grown to include almost every type of music from rap to folk, from rock to orchestral, and from jazz to opera.

And the venues have increased as well.  Music is now performed in locations all over Dartmouth. These include pubs, cafes, halls and even a castle!  As well as the huge programme of live performances there are also a number of workshops for adults and children.

The Dart Music Festival 2012 will be held between Friday 11th and Sunday 13th May 2012

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week

Since its first performance of the Twelfth Night in 2003 Dartmouth Shakespeare Week has been wowing everyone with its adept adaptations of the Great Bard’s plays performed in the stunning surroundings of Dartmouth Castle.

Initially conceived by a few deluded souls over a beer (or two) in the Cherub Inn, the Inn Theatre Company was formed and has been responsible for pulling off some hugely ambitious productions to great critical acclaim.

The Dartmouth Shakespeare Week is held annually in August.  2012 dates tbc.
